When searching through the San Jose Mercury Times I found an article that deeply impacted me. :'[
It's not that i necessarily agree with the article... but I did relate to it. I'm not from around San Jose, and one of the things that I really liked about the area, was the fact that I could easily travel without a car. Unfortunately, due to the recent passing of the state budget, California is being faced with devastating budget cuts in various areas from education, to public transportation.
TRANSPORTATION, my means of travel. Public transportation (VTA, Caltrain, Samtrans, BART) will be hit hard losing MILLIONS of dollars in funds. The result will be heavy fare spikes, and fewer/lesser, available routes.
Out of all the articles, this one directly impacts me. Without public transportation, I won't be able to hop on the lightrail and get to work, or take a train down to go home for the weekend. Our country is facing some hard times, and I hope we can rebound out of this recession quickly.

Wow, i had no idea there were such devastating budget cuts on transportation. That is really going to affect everyone and unfortunately me as well. i use the public transportation system when I leave the city, so I hope it is still as easily accessible.
